Mrs. Parvin Arasteh has dedicated herself for the past 15 years to empowering Iranian women and helping Iranian students achieve their educational ambitions. This work was carried out within an informal structure until recently. In 2009 she established the P. Arasteh Charity in Iran which provides funding and assistance to economically disadvantaged students to pursue their university education. Her extensive philanthropic activities have also included the establishment and construction of primary schools, high schools and departments of a number of institutions of higher learning.
Michael immigrated from Iran when he was seventeen to pursue his university education. First attending Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, Michael then transferred to Cal State Northridge, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.
Michael is currently the founder and CEO of Primex World Inc., and has a background in four areas of business, namely retail (Co-founder of QuickPix one-hour photo chain), marketing (founder of Primex Talking Yellow Pages), real estate (residential development), and farming (pistachios). Michael Amin also founded and maintains a non-profit organization, the Maximum Difference Foundation. From 2008 to 2010, Michael was on the Board of Directors for the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), an organization that he continues to support.
Mr. Michael Amin was born and raised in a farming family in Iran. The Amin family has always been charitable and have been vital in instilling Michael the importance of giving back and doing good. This influence is part of why Michael has a passion and dedication to giving and charitable endeavors.
Homayoon Majd is currently the Vice President of Primex World, Inc. In that capacity, he manages all aspects of pistachio farming operations, real estate development projects, and philanthropic initiatives. In 1986, Homayoon co-founded Genesis 2000, Inc. to design, develop, and market mortgage automation software. The company’s products assisted in automating the mortgage origination process and integrated brokers with service providers through Web connections. The company captured the second biggest market share in the U.S. with tens of thousands of clients in all fifty states using its mortgage automation software solutions. As a real estate investor, he has successfully negotiated and closed many transactions. Homayoon has also been involved in many Real Estate development projects allowing him to interact with almost all trades related to the construction industry. As a philanthropist, he is a firm believer of promoting the welfare of others to make the world a better place to live.
Homayoon Majd holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Structural Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has been a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California since 1982 and holds a State of California Real Estate Broker License. He is also a member of many professional organizations such as National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and Southland Regional Association of Realtors.
Ms. Hoda Gerami is a Marketing Campaign Coordinator at Zurich Insurance Company, where she leads multiple marketing and advertising campaigns. She has 5+ years of experience being an active member of the Youth Committee of two different charitable organizations in Iran, Raad Rehabilitation Goodwill Complex which is dedicated to promoting the cause of the physically disabled community and Mahak which offers services in the fields of welfare, medical treatment and research for children and their families suffering from cancer. Her responsibilities have included organizing fund-raising events, publishing quarterly newsletters and liaising with board members and committee members on semi-annual fundraising galas.
Ms. Leyla Mostafavi has recieved her J.D. from University of Ottawa, her Master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto. She is currently an LL.M. candidate at UC Berkeley Law School. She brings with her a strong interest in Iranian history and art, sensitivity to diverse cultures and communities, and a passion for education. She is experienced in working with international and national media outlets and NGO’s.
